In an automotive industry once dominated by men, Spanish carmaker SEAT is leading the way to a more diverse, accessible and inclusive future.
Ranked by the Financial Times-Statista as 65th out of 850 European companies who are Diversity Leaders, early in 2021 SEAT joined the Board of Directors of REDI, the first Business Network for LGBT+ diversity and inclusion in Spain.
“SEAT is firmly committed to people and diversity, tolerance, respect and inclusion are part of our core values,” says Xavier Ros, Executive Vice-president for Human Resources and Organisation at SEAT.
Guillermo Cerrón, one of the driving forces behind the Pride@SEAT initiative for LGBT+ employees, will represent the carmaker on the REDI board.
Barcelona-based SEAT is one of Spain’s most important employers and is the country’s largest investor in industrial research and development. As well as supporting an inclusive and diverse workplace, the company is promoting best practices in employment and diversity all across its national and international supply chain.
For SEAT, the principles of tolerance, respect and inclusion form the foundations of the company’s culture and will help guide it and its partners on their way towards a diverse, innovative and sustainable future.
“We aim to foster an inclusive, open company, removed from barriers and stereotypes, and to raise awareness both within the company and in society,” Ros says.
“Thanks to each individual’s uniqueness, SEAT will continue to be an innovative, competitive and sustainable company.”
