Sicily offers more than just tourism. This amazing island has been conquered, loved, targeted and stained with wine and blood.
Red is the color that Sicily is associated with, the red of those dramatic sunsets, the mellow sunrises and the Nero d’Avola wines. Like the wine that is produced at Kapuhala Sicily. The wine represents the last circle of the three in its logo: celebrating and living in community.
Kapuhala is a hotel concept that combines plant-based nutrition, fitness and social living. These are the elements that form the blue zones, where most centenarians are found. Kapuhala Sicily and Kapuhala Koh Samui in Thailand run the same concept, each in their own ways.
There are two main areas in the estate: “Palmento”, wine-farmer suites remade from a heritage wine producing structure, and “Casa Aromi”, independent villas decorated with refurbished tiles and private gardens that represent the shepherds. Guests from these two areas meet right in the middle of the hotel by the “aia” (yard in Italian) where dinner is served every day at the same time. At 8.30pm, lots of toasts and chitchats are exchanged between friends even strangers, as everyone comes to Kapuhala for the very same reason. Eat well represents the first circle in the Kapuhala logo.
The second circle is train well. At Kapuhala Sicily, yoga classes are held in the outdoor botanical gym next to the rosemary maze and hundreds of aromas grown around the area. It is also one of the few places in the world where one can run in a 400m Olympic track right next to a big vineyard with rolls and rolls of dark grapes. When the sun becomes too strong in the middle of the day, a dip in the infinity pool overlooking the dry fields is one of life’s biggest pleasures.
Beyond COVID lies the new normal. Many smart workers and entrepreneurs are working while traveling. Being in contact with nature, cognitive performance is enhanced and a healthy lifestyle summarizing in the three Kapuhala circles are the ultimate efficiency booster.
With a steady growth of tourists coming to Sicily even before the pandemic, Kapuhala innovates by offering modern, healthy holidays in the backdrop of the island’s rich heritage and beautiful landscapes.
Kapuhala is proud to celebrate Sicilian culture even its roots. The idea of farmers that used to work the land, eat the produce, celebrate victories and become gladiators. Heroically in the ultimate land of the Gods. Aru!
